Let's learn about theOdù IfáỌ̀ràngún méjì
Aliases :
Description :
Ọ̀ràngún is the last of the 16 major Odù or Ojú Odù (with both legs the same), but was once the self proclamed leader of all the Odù Ifá, before Èjìogbè obtained the title oficially, so we still need to observe due respect to him. We usually call him Ọ̀ràngún instead of Òfún méjì (Òfún at both sides).
It represent the mystic power of the divinity Odù (has the same pronunciation than the chapters of Ifá but is actually a very powerfull and sensitive feminine Òrìṣà and one of the wifes of Ọ̀rúnmìlà).
So when it is seen during Ifá consultation, it is a sign of the presence of the Orisa Odù and the diviner must be very careful and respectful greeting her with the words "Hèépa Odù !".
Also, when it comes out at first throw during a question, a second throw should never be made (as it happens with Èjìogbè).
